Green Eats – The Appearance of a Salad

Although this weeks dish may have the appearance of a salad, alas it is not. However, I didn’t realize until after I finished about half of it that it is a vegetarian dish.

What you will need:

  • One package of spinach and ricotta ravioli
  • One Avocado
  • Mixed greens
  • Pesto sauce
  • Shredded Parmesan cheese
  • Your favorite hot sauce

This recipe is incredibly simple, I believe it took me all of 15 minutes to prepare. Begin by boiling a pot of water, then cook the ravioli until al dente, which should take no longer than 5 minutes. After draining the ravioli, add the pesto sauce to the pot and toss the ravioli in it, then transfer to the serving dish.

Slice around the avocado the long way, and twist the two pieces in opposite directions. Remove the core by hitting it with the sharp side of your knife and giving a small twist. Run a spoon between the skin and pulp of the avocado, then slice in your preferred patterns and it should pop directly out!

Add the mixed greens, cheese, avocado and hot sauce to the ravioli dish, and viola! You are almost ready to eat.

By this time you should know that you can’t truly indulge without considering the suggested pairing. This week we will need something rich, flavorful, perhaps a bit earthy, and maybe with a bit of citrus or spice. Our poison this week is Durban Poison. It seems to have quite uplifting effects and will go nicely with our dish as it has a sweet, earthy palate. Consider this:

KitsuneNaturalWellness

“I went to my local dispensary and they had a deal on Durban Poison. I had never tried it before, but I wanted to get it and let you guys know how it is! -Look: Nicely packed green buds covered in orange hairs and dusted in what looks like a sheet of fine, white powder. The stems aren’t too large or intrusive. -Smell: It is a simple but great combination of citrus, classic skunk, and a hint of sweetness to round it out. Love the smell -Taste: Honestly, the taste is more mild than I expected. It has a lovely earthy and skunky note. Instead of trying to hide the flavors traditionally associated with cannabis, they enhanced them and they did it well. It leaves a nice lightly smokey aftertaste -Effects: Immediately I feel uplifted and wanting to accomplish tasks, but it takes me a bit longer to get mentally prepared as I will forget what I was doing. I could see this working to your advantage if you set yourself reminders. -Conclusion: I love this strain. It has a great overall smell and taste and it makes you feel great. Light up a bowl of this and be prepared to get some stuff done! ==Kitsune Natural Wellness==”

This is a paring that should go well with a nice lunch, although you may need a happy hour for a pick me up prior to evening activities. Until next week, get after it.
